EMOH (em-oh) n. — A style of artwork by Hannah A. Patellis

Originally a portmanteau of the words “Motion” and “Emotion,” EMOHs take on a life of their own. Just like humans do

This is the manifesto of me, Hannah Alexandria Isadora Patellis, and my EMOHs. When it comes to me and my EMOHs, the artist is the art and vise versa. They cannot and are not intended to ever be removed from one another

“Digital still visual art”

“Painting with technology”

“Digital still visual art”

  • Digital as it is initially made using a computer — comprised entirely of 1s and 0s
  • Still as it does not move by default
  • Visual as it is for the eyes by default
  • Art because there was nothing and I crafted something

“Painting with technology”

  • Painting as color has been placed where color was not previously
  • Technology as in a combination of craft and knowledge
    • It is technique made possible by eons of knowledge

EMOHs are, by their nature, anti-capitalist. EMOHs are about experience and emotion. Which are all not aligned with capitalism. EMOHs are about honesty and vulnerability. Which are all not aligned with capitalism. EMOHs are about freedom and flexibility. Which are not aligned with capitalism

EMOHs are initially made up of:

EMOHs exist within a handful of ever-evolving principals:

EMOHs are initially made up of:

  • A container
  • Followed by a form
  • Which is married to a mesh
  • Upon which color is draped
  • And in the end, adorned with vibes

EMOHs exist within a handful of ever-evolving principles:

  • No emotions are bad
    • Every one tells us something important
  • Humans are emotional by nature
    • Collect experiences is the purpose of living
  • Staying stationary is toxic
  • The only way out is through
  • Nothing is one thing. Everything is colorful, flowing back and forth between a vibrant spectrum both seen and unseen
    • Vibes are important
    • Vibes are the undefinable
    • There’s more than just our senses and the vibes encompass that beyond
  • Be alone. Listen to yourself. You’re all you truly have at the end of it all
    • Be your best friend
    • Date yourself
  • Make for the present, not for the future, as the future does not yet exist and is therefor unknowable and impossible to plan for
  • Rules and laws, be them of your own making or someone else’s, require careful examination to determine if they are either adequate/appropriate guide rails for safety or inadequate/inappropriate bullshit

I create
&
I spend it all.
Every time.
(You should too)

I do not wait to be declared an artist as I am one by nature and know of no other existence
